Welcome to Kappa chapter’s website of the Kappa Alpha Order. I am Kappa chapter’s current number one, Taylor Carter. As we move into the Christmas season, we look forward to several large events this spring semester. To start off the spring semester, we have a very extravagant Convivium planned out to be held on January 11th of 2014. Epsilon Nu will be co-hosting this year’s celebration with us in addition to what we expect to be a large turnout from our distinguished alumni. There will be RSVP letters arriving in the mail over Christmas, as well as an online registration form on this website that can be accessed HERE. This past semester we have gained five new members that we expect will contribute to the upward success of Kappa. There have been several alumni events where we the brothers have enjoyed meeting alumni throughout Kappa’s years. Over Christmas break we look to begin renovation of the chapter’s on-campus house.

Looking forward into the next year, we will be holding a week long informal rush after Convivium for potential new members. We have already received several generous donations to Kappa to help fund our progress to renovating the on-campus house and funding our rush efforts, we would appreciate any continued financial support throughout the spring. This year Kappa chapter plans on reaching out to adopt a highway as well as a MDA fundraiser later this spring, details will be poster after Christmas break for those interested in helping our philanthropy. My phone is always on if at any time in the event that anyone would like to contact me with any questions or inquiries involving the chapter. Feel free to contact me at (706) 296-9830 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to our website. My name is Drew Haynes and I am the Kappa chapter’s current number one. We have lots of exciting events planned this fall semester, starting, as always, with rush. We have a full schedule of events planned for the next two weeks, all information is accessible on the rush page. Or biggest event this fall semester will be our homecoming 2012 alumni reunion. We are expecting to have a very large turnout for this event. It will be on Saturday, November 10th, more information will be available as the event is planned. Check back at the Alumni Section within the next month for details. As always, we will also be having our annual Cowboy Ball, Convivium, and Old South events, more info on those to be announced as well. Last semester, Kappa chapter had its largest Convivium in over a decade, and also rose over $500 in donations at its yearly Roast for MDA. This year we plan to have an even greater turnout, and to continue to make great strides in our philanthropic outreach.

Honoring Those who have Fought PDF Print E-mail

Since our founding, thousands of our brothers have served in the United States Armed Forces, many being highly decorated for their honor and service. The Military Division of KA is available to brothers that are either currently serving, retired, or have been honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces. Famed brothers who've served include WWII General George S. Patton, 5-star General George C. Marshall, and Navy Vice Admiral and Administrator of NASA Richard H. Truly. The brothers of Kappa would like to say thank you to all who have served and fought to defend this magnificent country, and would like to give a moment of silence for those who have fallen on the battlefield.

This past Friday conditions ended up being good enough for snow! School was cancelled after 2:00 on Friday due to the 100% chance of precipitation and cold temperatures. At around 3:00pm it began snowing and the festivities began! We had a cookout and a snowball fight. The snow didn't stop untill around 9:00 that evening.

Hello All,

My name is Kirkland Brooks; I am the newly elected President of Kappa chapter here at Mercer University. This year is hopefully going to be an unprecedented year of improvement and growth. Not just growth of the chapter but growth of relationships. This year, after studies, our main goal is going to be developing strong ties with all of our distinguished alumni. Soon there will be a semester newsletter sent out to all alumni who's information we have along with a monthly newsletter posted right here on this website. I strongly encourage every alumni that visits this site to send us their information so that we can stay in contact. I am really looking forward to a full and progressive year ahead.

       Fraternally yours,
       Kirkland Brooks
